A severely decayed tooth is at a high risk for infection and should be pulled protect the rest of your teeth.

Gum disease destroys teeth and destroyed gum tissue can cause teeth to become loose and decay. Sometimes, addressing gum disease requires teeth extractions.

Abscessed teeth are painful and a tooth that is beyond repair must be extracted when restoration isn’t an option.

Teeth with vertical fractures or breaks extending to the gum line are generally not repairable and frequently need extraction.

An extraction is sometimes necessary to relieve crowding in the mouth. This is common with wisdom teeth as pulling them is common.

Impacted teeth may not fully erupt but are at such angles they cause pain and damage to other teeth. They must be pulled.

Our dentist will provide you with aftercare instructions so you can speed up your healing.

First 24 to 48 hours: Some swelling is completely normal and to be expected. Make sure to rest and eat only soft foods.

First week: The first week will likely include some discomfort but this is normal. You can return to normal oral hygiene after a few days.

Recovery Process: The gum takes a few weeks to heal but the bone in the gum takes a few months. We will likely schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor you.
