All on 4 Implants

Restore Your Smile with All-on-4® Dental Implants

Losing several or all of your teeth can affect daily activities such as eating, speaking, and smiling with confidence. For some patients, implant-supported solutions such as All-on-4® dental implants may help restore both the function and appearance of their smile.

At Water’s Edge Dental, our team works with patients to evaluate their oral health and discuss tooth replacement options that may be appropriate for their needs. All-on-4 implant treatment is designed to support a full arch of replacement teeth using a small number of dental implants.

During your consultation, our dental team will review your oral health, discuss your goals, and determine whether this treatment may work for you.

What is the All-on-4® procedure?

The All-on-4® treatment concept uses four strategically placed dental implants to support a full arch of replacement teeth. The implants are placed in the jawbone to provide support for a fixed dental prosthesis.

In some cases, a temporary set of teeth may be placed on the same day as implant surgery. These temporary teeth allow patients to maintain function and appearance while the implants heal and integrate with the jawbone.

Once healing is complete, a custom permanent prosthesis is placed.

Your dentist or oral surgeon will determine whether this approach is appropriate based on factors such as bone health, overall oral health, and treatment goals.

Potential Benefits of All-on-4® Dental Implants

Implant-supported restorations may provide several benefits compared with traditional removable dentures.

Improved Stability

Implant-supported teeth are anchored to dental implants in the jawbone, which may provide greater stability than removable dentures.

Restored Chewing Function

Many patients find that implant-supported restorations allow them to chew more comfortably than removable dentures.

Support for Jawbone Health

Dental implants stimulate the jawbone through normal biting forces, which may help support bone structure after tooth loss.

Natural Appearance

Implant-supported restorations are custom designed to resemble natural teeth and support the appearance of a balanced smile.

Fixed Restoration

Unlike removable dentures, implant-supported restorations are designed to remain securely in place.

The All-on-4® Treatment Process

Consultation and Examination: Treatment begins with an in-depth examination of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. Diagnostic imaging, such as 3D CBCT scans, may be used to evaluate bone structure and plan implant placement.

Treatment Planning

Based on your oral health evaluation, the dentist or oral surgeon will develop a customized treatment plan and discuss available options.

Implant Placement

During the procedure, dental implants are placed in the jawbone to support the future restoration. Local anesthesia and, when appropriate, sedation options may be used to help keep patients comfortable.

Temporary Teeth

In some cases, a temporary prosthesis may be placed to help patients maintain appearance and function while the implants heal.

Final Restoration

After the implants have fully integrated with the jawbone (a process known as osseointegration), the final custom prosthesis is placed.

Considering All-on-4® Dental Implants

Implant-supported restorations such as All-on-4 may be one option for replacing multiple missing teeth. The best treatment option depends on your oral health, bone structure, and personal preferences.
